It’s the office Christmas party and the time of year that we may be ready to let our hair down. Christmas music, turkey dinners, tinsel, crackers and we feel relaxed. Bubbly and beer may make us a little disinhibited sexually. This often leads to casual sex, or sex with a new partner.
When the party is over we may be left with more than just a ‘Secret Santa’ gift and hangover. Sexually transmitted infections ( STI ‘s and STD ‘s) can be caught with just one episode of sex without a condom. We can be infected by oral, vaginal or anal sex. Even though we may have had sex with a colleague or friend that we know, often their sexual history may be unknown to you truly. They may well be carrying a STI / STD. This could mean that having casual sex with them has made it likely that you are now infected too.
You don’t have to have sex with lots of people to have an STI /STD.
Having unprotected sex once with a person with a STI can be enough to give you an infection.
If you have any worries or concerns, it is always best to get tested for STI’s.
In Wales, at the moment there are many cases of Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Herpes, Syphilis and HIV infections.
Many people with these infections may have NO SYMPTOMS and so can easily pass these infections on.
We provide a CONFIDENTIAL, professional service, where you can be tested and treated discretely and very QUICKLY. We are non-judgemental and realise that these things like this can happen. Looking after your sexual health is our priority. The clinic is small, quiet and discrete and has appointments to suit you.
No waiting times, queues or hassle – take the stress out of STI testing.
